Emerging Technology in the Class Room.

As an educators we have come to realize that impact of technology in our classrooms has become one of great proportions.  Many studies have shown that students in more traditional setting don't score as well on there marks as students who have technology incorporated into there lessons. The question I find that is being as asked is how can we incorporate both traditional and new technological advances with our school budgets to factor in. First I think its important to evaluate the use of technology in the classroom. Technology should be a component which assist the teacher and students and should be grade level appropriate. Technology should not substitute all of your work entirely. Using your skills and incorporating technology makes class time fun for both you and the students.

Another great way to incorporate technology into your lessons to help students learn is to take for example the aspect of traditional lectures and using the ever popular i tunes to create podcast that students can listen to at home.Through the the innovative use of podcasting teachers can assign podcast as a way to review classroom lessons or even assign home work to be discussed in class the next day. In this example you took the traditional lecture time to a whole new level by allowing your students the ability to listen to the lecture where ever they want.

Another great and easy way to incorporate technology in the classroom is through the use of gadgets. Gadgets are free web applications that students can use to play games on a variety of subjects and can be used in different grade levels here are a few examples bod world which is a geography game great for students and I'm Voice translator which can help students learn different languages.

My First Blog

My name is Ms. Miranda and I am teaching at Palm Lakes Elementary. I have a wonderful second grade E.S.E class with exactly 25 students. I graduated with my Masters in the year 2015 specializing in the education of elementary students with special needs. My classroom this year is large with many windows and the newest technology in comfort for my students as far as desk and chairs as seen below.

I am very excited for the new changes that have come about   in education. My students really enjoy their class time because I engage them in games to help them learn and activities that involve there family and friends to help them feel a connection between there lessons and the real world around them. Some of my  students are hearing impaired and so I have taught my regular hearing students how to better communicate with my hearing impaired students. This has created an easier atmosphere for both myself and my students. My classroom philosophy is that anyone can learn and we must love and respect the those who are different from us in order to grow and become well rounded individuals. I like to use hands on methods to my teaching strategy for example when I am teaching the time I bring educational toys like that have many different shapes and this makes learning how to tell time fun and easy.

I also like to incorporate math party into my math lessons which my students love because they get to sing and dance.

I enjoying keeping my students engaged and excited about learning and I help prepare them not only for the use of there education in my class room but also in there every day life.
